POPULAR WEDDING SONG - YOUR LOVE

November 2, 2011
YOUR LOVE

it's not the flowers, wrapped in fancy paper
it's not the ring, i wear around my finger
There's nothing in all the world i need
when i have you here beside me,
here beside me

Chorus
so you could give me wings to fly
and catch me if i fall
or pull the stars down from the sky
so i could wish on them all
but i couldnt as for more
cuz your love is the greatest gift of all

in your arms, i found a strength inside me
and in your eyes there's a light to guide me
i would be lost with out you
and all that my heart could ever want
has come true

so you could give me wings to fly
and catch me if i fall
or pull the stars down from the sky
so i could wish on them all
but i couldnt as for more
cuz your love is the greatest gift of all

you could offer me the sun, the moon
and i would still believe
you gave me everything
when you gave your heart to me

so you could give me wings to fly
and catch me if i fall
or pull the stars down from the sky
so i could wish on them all
but i couldnt as for more
cuz your love is the greatest gift of all

KING'S SPEECH - MARIO LUPATO

October 31, 2011

In this grave hour, perhaps the
most fateful in our history, I send
to every household of my peoples,
both at home and overseas this
message spoken with the same depth
of feeling for each one of you as
if I were able to cross your
threshold and speak to you myself
Over and over again we have tried
to find a peaceful way out of the
differences between ourselves and
those who are now our enemies. But
it has been in vain. We have been
forced into a conflict. For we are
called, with our allies, to meet
the challenge of a principle which,
if it were to prevail, would be
fatal to any civilized order in the
world. Such a principle, stripped
of all disguise, is surely the mere
primitive doctrine that might is
right. For the sake of all that we
ourselves hold dear, and of the
world's order and peace, it is
unthinkable that we should refuse
to meet the challenge. It is to
this high purpose that I now call
my people at home and my peoples
across the seas, who will make our
cause their own. I ask them to
stand calm and firm, and united in
this time of trial. The task will
be hard. There may be dark days
ahead, and war can no longer be
confined to the battlefield. But we
can only do the right as we see the
right and reverently commit our
cause to God.

If one and all we keep resolutely
faithful to it, then, with God's
help, we shall prevail

WEDDING SONG: CANON IN D BY MARIO LUPATO

October 29, 2011
CANON IN D WITH LYRICS

Come with me, and we will fly together,
to a place, where we can love forever,

Take my hand, and we will see tomorrow,
only joy, and no more tears or sorrow,

A love I never knew, until I found you,
I promise that I do, believe that dreams come true.

Miracles will be, look at you and me,
heaven helped us to, believe that dreams come true.

Instrumental Break

In this moment, filled with deep emotion
hold me tight, you'll feel my true devotion.

A love I never knew, until I found you,
I promise that I do, believe that dreams come true.

Miracles will be, look at you and me,
heaven helped us to, believe that dreams come true,
believe that dreams come true.

POPULAR WEDDING SONG - SONG FOR YOU AS INTERPRETED BY MARIO LUPATO

October 17, 2011
A SONG FOR YOU

I've been so many places in my life and time
I've sung a lot of songs I've made some bad rhyme
I've acted out my love in stages
With ten thousand people watching
But we're alone now and I'm singing this song for you

I know your image of me is what I hope to be
I've treated you unkindly but darlin' can't you see
There's no one more important to me
Darlin' can't you please see through me
Cause we're alone now and I'm singing this song for you

You taught me precious secrets of the truth witholding nothing
You came out in front and I was hiding
But now I'm so much better and if my words don't come together
Listen to the melody cause my love is in there hiding

I love you in a place where there's no space or time
I love you for in my life you are a friend of mine
And when my life is over
Remember when we were together
We were alone and I was singing this song for you

You taught me precious secrets of the truth witholding nothing
You came out in front and I was hiding
But now I'm so much better and if my words don't come together
Listen to the melody cause my love is in there hiding

I love you in a place where there's no space or time
I love you for in my life you are a friend of mine
And when my life is over
Remember when we were together
We were alone and I was singing this song for you
We were alone and I was singing this song for you

THOUGHTS ON: FUNERAL MUSIC AND BEREAVEMENT

October 9, 2011

Best performances are made when people around are in their focused state like during a funeral mass where silence is evident and parts for words and music stand out. Funeral music reflects reverence not only the music choice but the controlled delivery same with the words said for the deceased.  It is the time to express the real essence what a song is performed with intense feeling and sincerely sharing the beauty and meaning of a song.

I had the privilege to sing for a funeral mass and doing so made me feel how important sharing during this moment of bereavement. I was there not show how good I am. I was there sharing sentiments of the highest order and just in that moment could lead you to really what is right at that particular stance without someone telling you or directing you what is proper. You are there like a member of the family among the intimate gathering of mostly relatives and close friends. And sharing special song relating to the occasion is added drama to life and a milestone being an artist in the true sense of the word.

There is no hush during bereavement. Even the photographers and video man where in just one corner never moving here and there like during weddings and capturing only special moments to avoid the flashes now and then. There are not much color around except for more of the whites and blacks as an indication of respect. Well, a sort of controlled intensity but the beauty of it all is once in awhile we have to be around where drama is a part of life to be involved with.

I can say that the few hours I was with the bereaved family doing my share is a reflection that every moment in one’s life indicates no certainty and doing, thinking and helping in a way are the best things to do while on earth. If you don’t have much money to afford sharing, maybe talents voluntarily shared serve as an alternative without asking something in return but if it gives and insisted, feel free to accept.

Here, time comes so fast and ready for grasp

Where certainty reels like tough task

Whispering in silence not asked

Come to me and live another life that last

As substitute for eternal presence at dusk

For death is another feat to trust

A WEDDING AT FERNBROOK: PHILIPPINE WEDDING DESTINATION

October 1, 2011

Supposedly, it was a Christian garden ceremony but because of the incoming typhoon the couple decided to do it indoor and all guests were informed timely to start the ceremony around 5pm inside the Colonial Hall of Fernbrook Gardens that typifies golden splendor. Music prelude was performed by Augustine Music before the rites began expecting some other guests. The wedding musicians kept playing until the ceremony started.

The first to enter was an American Pastor before the procession began. A relative of the groom sang during the processional march and when the bride walked the aisle, a popular song as instrumental music was rendered by the remarkable musicians of the Philippines. The wedding rites went so well and some touching moments where the couple on their own words exchanged wedding vows.

During the lighting of the candle and signing of contract, Augustine Music performed the most requested wedding music, “Canon in D”. It is the most popular music for weddings not only Catholic weddings or Christian weddings but all rites where solemnity is called for. Maybe, another composition will emerge and also become top wedding music that can withstand the test of time like Canon in D that has been used for 150 years and it is still being used for weddings.

The Multinational Baptist Church Choir took over during the pictorial as we proceeded to the reception venue ready for our music when the guests were received. The pictorial for thirty minutes and the guests kept coming as we performed popular requested reception music.

The wedding reception program started with the brother of the groom and the brother of the bride hosting the program. There were some lull moments but wedding music from wedding musicians filled them doing their favorites. Being young couple, their wedding music list were of the popular foreign music without any Filipino music. Well, that was their choice and being the performers must do what they want with a little suggestion to music choices but still theirs prevail.

The prepared wedding program went well and a little longer than expected but more guests still stayed ready for the DJ for some dance music, also to enjoy the myriad of colors scattered all around.

Weddings in the Philippines are romantic in nature and a great time to meet old friends and relatives from far and near to share lavish feast prepared by the couple. It is also a time where best clothes are worn, expensive jewelries are displayed and the best you standing with the rest celebrating the best wedding possible with beautiful music floating in the air, all wedding suppliers giving the best service at hand but most of all anticipating the marital bliss for the newlyweds.

Best wedding music, popular love songs, best food, solemn wedding ceremony, well-prepared wedding program, unique wedding souvenirs, wedding gifts for the couple and all that you can think about making a wedding day truly a special dream wedding is there for you at hand. A Filipino Wedding is kept to last forever.

MOST POPULAR WEDDING MUSIC

September 29, 2011

For the past 150 years and up to the present, Canon in D major is still the most popular music for weddings. I can’t imagine why it is vastly asked for as one of the wedding music played while there are more beautiful compositions. It is a composition by a German Baroque composer and first published by Pachelbel in 1919. He was born in 1653 and died in 1706 but his music remains as the most popular wedding music ever.  The advantage in playing Canon in D is that it can fit any time span and be cut short in demand.

We had played this wedding music numerous times and the latest was during a Christian Wedding at the Colonial Hall of Fernbrook Gardens for the lighting of the unity candle.

WEDDING SONG FOR THE RECEPTION: ANTONIO'S SONG JAZZ INTERPRETATION

September 28, 2011

Listening to wedding songs come in many forms and reception songs and music are safely performed by gifted wedding musicians where style differs  and interpretations set each performer at par.

One special song for the reception is “Antonio’s Song” maybe not that familiar but one of the best sounding songs because of its simplicity and easy to the ears. It sounds like a blend of Latin and Caribbean that makes it distinct but anyone can perform it in style that befits.

This kind of song is perfect for dinner and during gathering where light music sets as background never distracting as guests do their conversations. Just listening to the melody steers imagination freely. That is reason why such song or music is perfect for wedding reception where many are privileged to listen.

WHEN WEDDING SONGS AND MUSIC COME TO PLAY

September 22, 2011

Bands for weddings that provide live entertainment can either be string quartet or a quartet of different instruments who are passionate musicians enough to comprise a live band for a wedding ceremony and reception with a wedding singer to do some love songs. A list of wedding songs and music must come handy for the couple to choose what suits them and they have their popular song or music choices.

There are no best wedding songs or music because a wedding musician can transform a simple music to heights with a certain technique to bring out the beauty of any musical piece. The bridal march is a bride’s concern and careful choice is made even the processional march where normally the standard processional wedding march is used most often is devised these days. Modern wedding march in instrumental form is accepted and there is no rule to break except that best wedding music is hard to place. Even during the bridal march where a wedding singer sings the favorite love song of the couple is effective but not during the ceremony where church or Christian music and songs are implemented strictly. The choice too, has to be thought about with regards propriety.

Classical music is appropriate during a wedding ceremony, especially if your theme is more of the formal type and your guests come from the higher class who, for sure appreciate. A classical traditional wedding march is dramatic in every corner of a performance and the safest to play but sometimes being different does some trick to click. For a catholic wedding during the offertory, a short offertory song that centers the liturgy is a must and a classical communion wedding song sends a certain feel during the ceremony.

Instrumental music goes with flow as the marriage rites go and even a piano music is lifting as you listen to wedding themes. More so during the wedding vows where a soft background instrumental music is played as the couple exchanges their vows, such a romance in the air, as they say. Well, complimenting the beauty of a piano piece is the violin that adds drama to a music sheet as interpreted. The soft tones make everybody relaxed as the wedding ceremony progresses.

Musicians in the Philippines love being involved with weddings. It is an avenue to showcase a single talent or as a group. Violin music by a solo violinist can make beautiful music but being with the group comprising a string quartet can do the best wedding music ever. Philippine musicians don’t do only Filipino music but more on foreign music that keeps building. Foreign songs and music top the music list – some are forgotten and more remain and imitated and performed most by Filipinos. But the beauty of Philippine music is for the Filipinos remain in their hearts.

Popular songs are vast these days and choosing what is best for a wedding is harder to include for a music list but the old romantic songs and music are easy to find, mostly on the net because they stood the test of time. Their melodies are universal. Their messages are apt for people in love. The tune is eternal.

Wedding songs and music stay forever because they send the right signals to heart and the main intention is to fill the void in one’s soul with a message of love. A love song is forever cherished. And we, as wedding musicians in the Philippines have something to share not only wedding music but all kinds of world music.

GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY OF HEART - AUGUSTINE MUSIC AND EVENTS

September 18, 2011

It was awesome to be involved with an affair prepared by the children to put up a remarkable bash celebrating the 50th wedding anniversary of their parents. A golden wedding is a feat to reach and the best has to be offered for the celebrants.

The wedding songs and music selected by the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lucena speaks of their taste in music. The old standard songs and music still top the wedding music choice list and many longs for the forgotten songs of the past to be heard once again because their unique melodies are felt from the hearts. It is during a golden wedding where romantic music lingers in the air. You can feel what the song or music is telling you especially if wedding musicians come to play and musicians in the Philippines are passionate when it comes to the old classics. It is also the reason why Filipino music is one of the best in the world. Everybody loves music from the Philippines.

The wedding ceremony where the couple renewed their vows is a chapel near the middle of the vast Veteran Memorial Hospital where it sits. It is a small circular chapel ideal for an intimate number of people for a mass celebration and far from noise from the busy street nearby. It is cozy, too because it is an open kind of chapel where air passes through and lots of light making scenes photographic.

Before ceremony began, the Augustine Music performed touching wedding prelude music that captivated the guests around with the solemn rendition of the light classical music which is familiar to many and after the prelude music provided by the wedding musicians, an old beautiful romantic song was rendered for the bridal march timely done even the center aisle is that short for the couple walked slowly to relish the special moment. There was the church choir to do the rest of the wedding songs and music and proceeded to the wedding reception venue where we will manage our instruments to be used as the guests arrived after the wedding ceremony.

It was nearly twelve noon when the guests arrived with reception music the moment guests arrived in droves and to cope up with the time, program started when almost all were in as suggested and let everybody come in from the photo booth section to start the first part of the wedding reception program.

I hosted the golden wedding program and enjoyed the moment with the children with their husbands and wives who did fantastic tribute by singing very relating wedding songs for a golden wedding. Even the grandchildren spiced the bash with their special dance number with the music from the thriller of Michael Jackson. The wedding program was prepared by the children and followed the program flow as it was with some insertions were needed.

The wedding musicians enjoyed their time playing beautiful wedding songs and music which are easy to listen to and observed that the couple were very intent when one of their favorite songs were performed like “Stardust” and “Smile”. And even the guests kept humming as they heard those old familiar music played by the Augustine Music.

A golden wedding is best to be engaged with when it comes to intimacy with the wedding program and wedding music. These are two areas where hearts are called to effectively relish the importance of a celebration with such wonderful contributions. A wedding program host or emcee either makes or breaks the affair and wedding musicians’ share with that splendid list of wedding songs and music add glitter to the party.

Once again, I am so glad having given the opportunity to host and sing for a remarkable golden wedding and my very share is, at least made the wedding day as expected.
