SOUL SINGING - AN ULTIMATE INTERPRETATION

February 7, 2011

When someone carries a tune, he or she says I am a singer not giving much thought how the interpretation affects listeners. Almost all can sing and really love the art but the real passion doesn't come to play. There are those who are gifted with good voices and what needs is honing but there are more who like to sing just to express.

Singing is simple act but what comes from within is what lacks. Most singers today sing as if shouting to the top of their voices thinking that the louder the voice is, the better. There are few singers who sing with mustered control and that should be the case. Singing is like a conversation expressed in a different manner more lyrical and dramatic tones. The reason, too that competent performers realize their feelings. The emotion put to a song is rooted from experiences sad or happy and the tone carries it all and reveals your soul.

These are few considerations to remember to put soul to a song:

  • Examine the lyrics of the song. It is similar to poetry with a rhyme.

  • Find out what the song tells. Few lyrics comprise a whole story. A summary of it all.

  • Listen to the melody. Discover if it is something romantic or needs dramatic interpretation.

  • Determine how it flows. You can be creative by employing a certain style of your own.

  • Feel the melody. You alone can put color in your special way.

  • Choose the beat how you want it done being the artist. Employing the free style singing is the safest with how your feelings go. You can use all the emotions called for just surfing with the flow.

When you find a song to be interpreted, it is but proper to choose a pianist who has the same passion with regards to music and there a beautiful music is crafted with two souls making the best of a music gem.

Singing is a special gift to be shared and the memory it creates remains to those offered. It recalls your passion and eager to participate what music has to give:

  • Beauty

  • Memories

  • Relaxation

  • Joy

  • Artistry

Just a word of caution. Never tarnish a song just for fun. Remember that a piece of music comes from God and what comes from Him is always good. Sing with me.

KOREAN-CHINESE CHRISTIAN WEDDING

February 2, 2011

As I was observing before the ceremony began, it appeared that Koreans behave like Pinoys. They were not pretentious and a bit noisy like us. The Chinese guests seemed more of the reserved type and they look like Koreans. Everybody were dressed tastefully. The female principal witnesses were dressed in maroon gown and others in light royal blue looking like Imperial Queens. Their counterparts – male principal sponsors and almost all male guests were in coat.

Before the ceremony began, we played a classical prelude. All their music choices were classical. Even the processional and bridal march was something different – NELLA FANTASIA. The bride strictly wanted the piece to be performed into its entirety and we did as requested.

The ceremony is the same with the rest of the christian weddings we've been to. The officiating minister did all the talking and wanted no background music during the exchange of vows supposedly to add romance as vows done. When the ceremony was over it was our turn to play during the photo sessions and did all classical masterpieces. Even the music for their recessional was majestic.

Well, after the ceremony which was ended at around 6 pm, we waited until 8 pm for the reception program to start. The air conditioning of The Crowne plaza was freezing. Really that cold inside. They occupied ballrooms D C and E. housing around 250 guests, if my count serve me right but that much or more.

We loved performing the heavy classics once again and not all want classical music but being passionate about music that was the chance to showcase an expertise. We knew the guests enjoyed our performances especially the Koreans. They are indeed romantic people. It seemed delight was sketched on their faces as timeless classics were played.

The affair seemed a bit long and we stayed until the program ended but it was a wonderful experience sharing moments with people of different cultures.

A WEDDING GOWN STORY - AUGUSTINE MUSIC AND EVENTS

February 2, 2011

As part of helping those who really need help when asked like a lady who happened to see my website and thinking that we do everything for weddings I honestly listened. Her concern was about renting gowns for the entourage and honestly said that she was in a tight budget. She was also opting to rent a gown for herself. I listened as she recounted her needs and felt her sincerity.

Being into weddings for quite sometime I know the ins and outs of the arena we are in. I told her that almost all who make dresses for weddings get their materials in Divisoria because it is really economical and quality remains. I have friends who get refuge there and earn because they have all what they need. What counts is your artistry how to make things exceptional. Also, I have to confess that our very first coordination was a full one. So, we have to attend to everything because the bride and groom to be were far away from us. And they wanted rented gowns for the entourage and we sought for and problem was solved just like that. We got the sizes, color and style and the designer was very unselfish bringing the gowns to our place and invited the members of the entourage for fitting. All fitted and let them have theirs. Simple as that.

I didn’t tell her about this but suggested that she has to let a relative scout for her. By the way, she is abroad. I told her that a gown must be made for her. I mentioned also that the very good designers are found in Divisoria having their shops there. And very accessible for them to create a work of art like a dream piece for her. Even my niece had her gown made by one of the unknown designers of Divisoria and it turned out looking like a million dollar design. That very simple conversation enlightened her and as she said her thanks I sensed her relief.

Of course, we are here to listen and do what we can and only what we know and did as a special gesture of sharing.

INTERNET IS NEXT TO GOD?

January 29, 2011

I came across an article mentioning that Internet is God and I was intrigued upon that bold statement and in response, this is my claim. I can say my honest disclosure.

Everything that is good comes from God and disputing this is likened to a devil trying to confuse the rest but still good triumphs over bad. That God is everywhere like the ether is to the internet. It's difficult to explain existence but there you are enjoying what is shared asking not how it is given. You just accept because it is good for you.

The internet opened the greatest evolution of sharing, sharing what is possible and the impossible to think about. Well, inventions come from God – all knowledge therein and if you dig into explanations you'll end up to the dark. Still, the internet is the greatest invention of all time.

Be happy people for all burdens from tasks are diminished and everybody now is aware of the great help afforded from it. Almost all are accessed to your mind's delight and ease. It is giving you more time to indulge on other things for luxury of time exceeds.

Just the touch of your finger brings you the whole world. The world wide web opens for your eyes to feast sometimes reminding oneself that there is really a God. You are now beginning to realize that there are people who are willing to share in manner that fits from the orbits of mind.

Others claim that the internet is a work of the devil and disguised as sign of doom. How can they say doom when in fact they get their false belief from writings of pretenders. Everything can be written about because it comes from the mind. It comes from what someone believes and shares it that befits honesty as accorded. When someone puts something in paper begins the workings of the mind. As they say, mind is God. Confusing, isn't it? But here we are creatures of different level of understanding that makes a colorful intervention.

If thinking on the brighter side brings light then nothing puzzles you. Knowledge is power and it comes from collective information. Diverse it may seem but contributes to challenge the mind to exit to what is right and good. And if it is good, it is from ABOVE.

As this is written, it seems philosophical but that stays. What you are receiving right now out from the internet – world wide web is God's power. Collective information brings about the greatest power on earth and handed upon us as the greatest gift. From there we start to build our own force. From there added flavor to life becomes evident. From there we know that love exists amongst the many.

But the greatest of them all is that SHARING is now defined clearly.

ONLINE WEDDING COORDINATION - COMFORTABLE ALTERNATIVE

January 27, 2011

There are instances when a client hand a task for you and do it all through paper believing that it is dependable way being out of the country and not much time to the tedious preparations for a wedding. Starting from a simple theme and all way through will be handled by a wedding coordinator. Every plan was laid at hand and from there imagination runs.

The simple rule laid is that every snatch of information has to be relayed through emails and most correspondences the same with some few calls perhaps. The date and time of wedding is set and we were left to track the availability of venues needed. From there I emailed my client her ceremony preference and this will be a Christian Wedding. His husband to be who is also not from the Philippines left everything for his wife to take care all wedding preparations.

  • I suggested her a ceremony and the reception to be in one place for comfort. I listed venues for her to choose and when she is final with the decision then will start from there.

  • Also, the catering service which are plenty to compare with.

  • We also considered getting the most creative photographers and video man and the easier way is sending her site links of almost photo/video service I know and leave it to her to study what is for her is the best and fees, too included.

  • I sent her lists of wedding gown designers to choose from there sketches or designs. I told her to visit their websites if time permits and when she is decided I'll do the next step by visiting her designer and talk things out.

  • A quartet is what she wants for the ceremony and reception – purely instrumental

  • She has already decided for the invites and want it simple.

  • She is letting me find giveaways or a photo booth option. That is to follow.

  • I will be booking for hair and make up service and left me to choose whom we've worked with.

  • Even flowers for the entourage is to be handled by us and opted for all white roses except for her bridal bouquet. She wants Holland tulips and lotus flower. Hmm...seems hard to combine but let's see how it goes.

These are the primary considerations to be taken cared of for the meantime and she will be here in the Philippines a month before her big day to fulfill schedules fixed by us. One step at a time is what we are doing right now not to garble our minds.

The beauty of online coordination is using the best time you have to concentrate on the task assigned. There is no hurrying you and that leads a comfortable pace for you to go on creatively, for sure. Haste makes waste is a sure thing and we don't want it done that way. This is not a common task and it is only for the select few because we are aware that couple to be normally wants everything prepared by them with a little help from someone. Still, wedding coordination comes to play.

CORPORATE EVENT BEST MUSIC - AUGUSTINE MUSIC AND EVENTS

January 25, 2011

That was a Saturday of January 23, 2011 where a special corporate event was scheduled in honor of the top achievers of the company for 2010. Our role – Augustine Music Ensemble was to provide special music to highlight some parts of the corporate program prepared by Mr. Bonifacio Isidro who organized the big affair where guests, participants and awardees were gathered to join the festivities.

Our call time was 11am and when we arrived almost all were gathered familiarizing their parts and positioning themselves for the presentation. We hardly squeezed ourselves to enter the grand ballroom of Hotel Intercontinental. We knew that our parts were far in between but that was their agenda of the day and abide by it. The start of the big affair was scheduled for 12:30 pm and nobody was allowed to enter yet except us who will prepare our instruments because the first part of the program was the presentation of the awardees marching on with our music. And there were many of them.

We prepared five music scores fit for their march and before we played we let the organizer approve them first to match his taste and he liked them. Then the march began with our majestic music floating on the hall matching the gallantry of their entrance. It took around 20 minutes before all the awardees were received.

Before the meal was served, they did raffles with many prices at hand and heard that the grand raffle prize was hundred thousand pesos – that big. How we wished we were given raffle stabs but those were only for guests, employees, markeeters and awardees. The raffle box was indeed full with green stabs symbolizing prosperity which is the aim of the company to provide the better things in life for those involve with Philkraft.

As they were having their sumptuous meal, Augustine Music provided timeless classics to the ease of everybody. After 30 minutes of playing the next segment was some words for executives of the company in preparation for the diamond awards for deserving ones.

The diamond awarding ceremony started with appropriate music, “Diamonds Are Forever” playing it majestically with a touch of drama felt. The music fantastically matched their theme and we were glad we did our part by sharing the best we can for any affair called for.

Still, that portion of the program was not the culmination of it all. They had other activities lined up with a jazz band after us and a little later at night they had dancing to their hearts' delight for it was a GRAND AFFAIR for such a huge company like Philkraft.

A WEDDING PLAN FULFILLED - AUGUSTINE MUSIC AND EVENTS

January 22, 2011

The wedding of Roland and Khristine started at exactly 3:30 pm in Mary The Queen Parish Church with relatives, friends and guests some came from Chicago to grace the affair. This was a special wedding event with solemn ceremony matching well-chosen church music with the reverence.

Before the wedding ceremony began, the expertise of THE AUGUSTINE MUSIC AND EVENTS helping hand created a certain order making things right and the coordinators were there sincerely to help – to make a wedding worth cherishing. Helping out to add wonder to the event was the presence of the Augustine Music Quartet, Philippine Wedding Musicians matching the wedding theme with flair. Of course, the event planning was first handled by the couple and delegated their preparations to competent wedding coordinators with palpable sincerity.

The marriage ceremony was done nearly 5:00 pm and timely to rush for a scheduled 5:30 pm wedding reception held at the Pavillon of Oasis. And nearly 5:30 pm almost all were there and the wedding coordinators did took care of the seat plan prepared by the couple with order. Everybody were seated properly before the wedding reception program ensued. Everybody were settled and the program host started his first spiel by acknowledging the presence of the parents and principal witnesses then the rest of the bridal entourage who were presented with their partners and also the little angels took part by marching on before the GRAND ENTRANCE. As the couple marched to their seats everybody stood grabbing their napkins and twirled them on the air as a gesture of greeting. Gaiety became evident as they did their entrance.

Well, as you all are aware the rest of the wedding program includes the wedding traditions, pictorials with the guests before proceeding to the banquet table, the audio- visual presentation, the involvement with some special people for some words for the couple – the normal message portion where well wishers say what they feel for the couple, the ceremonial toast by the best man, then the father and daughter dance adding drama to the event before the bride is handed to the groom for the traditional dance where music is chosen by the couple and the climax of the program are games for both single ladies and guys finding partners – next groom and bride to be in the future. This is a part of the wedding reception program where fun is the utmost concern and devising a game to involve the guests, too adds flavor to the celebration.

The traditional dance of Roland and Khristine Torres was something unique and touching. As Roland was dancing with Khristine he rendered a soulful song, “Hanggang” doing it with expression and really something to remember by. He felt his song for his wife. He meant it. The guests were enthralled by this special gesture. The guests were mesmerized. The guests felt romance.

As the song goes, “our love affair is a wondrous thing, that will rejoice in remembering.”

HOW TO PREPARE A WEDDING: THE PRACTICAL WAY

January 19, 2011

Wedding pressures will be nil if preparations are done before hand. And when I address about wedding preparations I mean every considerations are matted out, discussed and acted the very first instance when you feel it's right. Wedding preparations are more of the intuitive side because you know what is really right for both of you and considering to go with it.

  • The very first that comes to mind for a husband and wife to be is the budget. From there after discussing how much this and that then you served the first step.

  • This determines how they will go about their wedding. There they will discuss the motif. There they will talk about guest list. They will talk about where the ceremony will take place. It is also paramount that they will consider food service whether catered or not. From there they will make a list of suppliers needed for their wedding.

  • It is worth considering the date and time of ceremony and when finalized there is no stopping you. You will then scout for reception venue considering the proximity from the ceremonial ground.

  • Then, I know you will be building your guest list. Of course, foremost on your minds will be the principal sponsors and members to form the wedding entourage. You will now think about the dress motif for your day. You will discuss if you will take care of the bridal entourage accouterments.

  • It is now your schedule to look for an imagined bridal gown to compare. Maybe you have vignette on mind and the chance for a creation is from the experts. It is your choice and taste that matters.

  • When your preparations are half-done, for sure you will take care of the requirements needed for a wedding. You need to get schedule for the family planning seminar which is a requirement before you can acquire your marriage license that expires after three months. Also, the needed banns to be posted on your parishes for 3 to 4 weeks prior to your wedding day. There is also the canonical interview from the church where you are going to be married. Normally, you have to schedule your availability.

  • When almost everything is half-through the rest of the suppliers come to play. You will then think of giveaways, musicians, if needs be, invites, flowers for the entourage.

  • Another aspect to consider are people who are going to help you carry out your preparations and a friend or a relative might help but if you are thinking otherwise then you need the expertise of a professional coordinator to carry all plans made by you. You can demand from your coordinator but not from your friend or relative. But a little help from a friend is a plus.

  • If you are resolved to have a seat plan then hand the details to your coordinator and have it followed to the T. That is your plan and it has to be complied the way you want it done.

  • At least, fifteen days before your wedding let all details attended by the coordinator and communicated to you every now and then. Just stay home and get lots of rest, pamper yourself and indulge into healthy food and get plenty of exercise so that radiance be yours on your wedding day.

WEDDING DAY PLANNING AND COORDINATION - THE EASY WAY

January 14, 2011

Now that the couple has arranged everything from scratch, a helping hand is called for and a coordinator is needed if a relative is not around to do the job professionally. It is best if a friend or someone else can offer assistance to curtail some expenses but remember that you can not demand if they do accept. Even if it is easier for them to do so, still the knitty-gritty of wedding details has to be attended and a professional coordinator is a solution.

  • Four coordinators is ideal

  • Two coordinators are assigned to where the couple are to pick necessary materials needed for the ceremony – flowers for the entourage particularly for the principal sponsors. The bridal bouquet is left for the bride for pictorial purposes. The rest of the entourage who are with the couple can have their needed flowers or bouquet. They are going to have pictorials, too and the best shots are having them at hand.

  • An hour and a half, the coordinators must be at the ceremonial ground or at the church to attend to the guests and the bridal entourage. Checking is done at the same time pinning buotonnieres for male entourage and handing the bouquet for the female entourage and the rest who don't have theirs yet.

  • At least an hour before the ceremony, offerings are set and remind those assigned for the offering. This is for a Catholic ceremony. They are grouped near the offertory table.

  • Fifteen minutes before the ceremony, the bridal entourage is assembled

  • Then, procession begins with a coordinator assisting with the march and one or two is assigned near the altar to assist members of the entourage for their seats.

  • Then, the parents of the bride walk until the middle aisle to wait for the bride ready to hand her to the groom waiting near the altar.

  • Ten minutes before the offertory, the ones to offer are lined up at the back.

  • When the ceremony is over coordinators assist for the sequence of the picture taking or do a roll call if nobody is assigned.

  • For the recessional march, entourage and some guests are gathered for some petal throwing and confetti to add gaiety.

  • Then, we gather everything left-off like the veil, cord, the bible, the unity candle, etc.

When the ceremony is over guests proceed to the reception area. Before the grand entrance of the couple, everybody has to be received. If there is a seat plan then it has to be implemented.

  • As guests are ushered in, music is played on either live if there are musicians or house music from the sound system.

  • When everybody is seated, the couple are briefed for their entrance.

  • Principal sponsors and parents are acknowledged then followed by the presentation of the entourage.

  • Then the Grand Entrance with all the flair needed like bubbles, smoke, confetti, flaming swords, etc.

  • The guests are assisted for the souvenir shots with the couple before proceeding to the buffet table.

  • During dinner, guest book is passed on

  • Middle part of the program, souvenirs are handed to some guests.

  • Assist the program host during the bouquet and garter games where single ladies and single guys are needed to participate.

  • Take care of the suppliers' fees, if designated.

  • Take care of the wrap-up job like food left has to be brought home by the couple, all paraphernalias are handed over.

These are the most needed details and following them will make a job well done. The reward of having to be in one place at the same time taking care of all the couple and guests' needs is a good feeling of having done something commendable.

PROMOTING THROUGH VIDEOS

January 12, 2011

The fact remains these days that creating videos and posting them online cruised into a giant leap. It is more favored now as the better promotional tool. Although blogging still has its place in the net more searchers look for the easier and shorter way to get information. Also favored because its faster to create a video than writing a treatise that eats more time than creating a 2 to 3 minutes video clip. I, for one lean towards the better route through videos. Its simpler to grasp. And for most of us know that simplicity is power.

But quality has to be taken into more consideration because what is sharing for but honest involvement out of your knowledge store. It is not easy to fool people now. They know what is pretentious article or blog or an amateur video. Its fun creating a video and clearer one or anything HD is considered professional if the material you present has value and done the right way. There is no strict rule in creation but your artistry stands out. It always become evident no matter what you try to conceal out of your masterpiece as you regard it to be.

Sometimes during my spare moments I create a video related to what we do – MUSIC and SPECIAL EVENTS. I have to be honest that I do create for promotional purposes but I always think of doing this to share what it needs sharing. I create not to announce to the world that I am very good creator but I do create to inform. I create to share needed knowledge. I create for comparison. I create to add beauty to the net. I simply create to share for what is internet for but sharing.

Considering both a video and a blog, the best combination of these two is put to test by having your video with notes about what you are trying to impart. Two or three paragraphs would suffice and it adds power to your video. It is a very good combination and instructional in a nutshell.

So, I hope this small information can remind you somehow. It is straight to the point without my usual jargons because when I write I intend to inform the best way I can.
